Assistant Manager - Finance - CA - Beverage Startup (1-3 yrs)

The company established by former Coca-Cola India managers has shaken the market with traditional Indian drinks. The idea of selling traditional drinks packaged was one of the most innovative ideas in the Indian market and it is today among the fastest growing brands in the FMCG space.

They have two plants, and the company has the capacity to produce 10 million single-serving packs a day. With about 900 employees, their products are now available in foreign markets too such as America, Britain, France, Canada, Australia, Netherlands, the UAE and Malaysia.

As Manager Finance you will take ownership of all financial operations and accounting transactions. You will also be responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, tax compliance and closing of books of accounts.

Your responsibilities include:

General Accounting:

- Ensure that Accounts are accurately prepared within timelines and in accordance with local regulations

- Regular preparation and review of trial balance and various schedules giving break - up of the required information.

- Review of AP and AR controls and ensure correct accounting and realization

- Accountable for system controls, adherence to the policies and SOPs in all areas having a financial impact.

- Move from transaction controls to design controls and thus elevate the usage of system control framework to enhance the analytical capabilities of the Finance team.

- Reporting and value add

- Finalize all statutory reports and ensure appropriate filing.

- Provide inputs to various stakeholders on periodic basis on cost and headcount

- Provide appropriate site overviews and provide financial guidance / assistance to leadership team on various issues

- Drive elimination of duplication in the system / practices and help automation to bring efficiencies in the team

Tax and Compliance:

- Ensure that details required for Tax Assessments are provided.

- Claims / refunds/ submission of returns under various statutory provisions are appropriately filed and followed up in a timely manner

- Strengthen governance

- Budgeting, Variance Analysis and Cost Controls

- Drive the yearly budget process in accordance with close interaction with the business heads in validating budget assumptions.

- Regular monitoring of the budget v/s actual and related variance analysis reporting.

- The role is also expected to understand the key cost drivers and work with the relevant groups to ensure that our cost basis is always optimum.

Statutory and Audit Compliance:

- Preparation of schedules for Tax Audit and Statutory Audit.

- Ensure timely completion of all audits. Also coordinate internal control questionnaire audits, group internal audits, follow up on audit comments and assist in implementing corrective action wherever necessary.

- Timely preparation of reports to be submitted to Customs, Tax authorities and filing same after review by CFO

Finance Operations:

- Employee related payments and disbursements.

- Vendor related payments and disbursements.

- Funds and cash flow management

- Change management and policy implementation including awareness creation and driving user behavior.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- First attempt CA with a working experience of 1-3 years

- Experience in startups highly preferred

- A deep and extensive understanding of Indian GAAP

- A deep and extensive understanding of Regulatory Reporting, Financial modelling concepts and Principles

- Should be comfortable to work in an fast paced, dynamic startup environment

- Strong team player and naturally collaborative in approach

- High analytical, conceptual and strategic competencies

- Proven leadership capabilities and organizational skills
