Assitant Director-Economic Thought Leadership & Client Programs

Thought Leadership and Client Program steam provides thought-provoking insights for the firm's global Strategic Growth Markets campaigns pertaining to IPOs, PE, VC, Entrepreneurship and Innovation and family business programs. This role creates impact in strategic decision-making by providing insightful analysis based on deep domain knowledge, using a range of analytical tools and techniques as well as internal and external databases. The individual will anticipate trends and issues in the business, and present analysis to target audiences including the assigned community team, firm leadership and the firm's clients.

The individual will work closely with the company's executive leadership to help it differentiate in the marketplace. He / Shewill provide leadership to the India leadesrhip team to surface ‘ahead of the curve ideas’ and key future trends. The individual will works with senior global executives, as well as strategic partners such as WEF, Endeavor and G20 to proactively bring solutions to identify new business opportunities and risks. The individual will also contribute to key SGM initiatives such as the Entrepreneur of the Year and the firm's Strategic Growth Forums.

The role will support the assigned community by leading, managing and contributing to complex research and analysis projects, including the design and delivery of products and services in response to customer needs. The individual will help frame knowledge requests and ensure the quality and delivery of research, analysis, market intelligence and other intellectual capital provided by the team to support the specific stakeholder’s initiatives. The individual will also network with other parts of firms' Global Markets (especially sector programs and other analysts) to ensure global consistency in account and community support, and to leverage resources for cost-effective execution of initiatives.

Accountabilities:

1. Research and analysis

a. Predictive analysis: Un-packs events into key drivers and causes to develop multiple hypotheses investigate alternatives and recommend solutions. Draw together information from primary and secondary sources to prove or disprove hypotheses.

b. Macro-economic research, regulatory impact and country risk analysis, business sentiment, and competition and strategy issues for clients from industries, policy making, industry association, financial sector, SME sector. Developing econometric models for demand, supply and price trend for different industries and sectors. Tracking and analyzing Developed and Emerging economy trends and delivering reports and presentations to senior business leaders

c. Leveraging relevant information sources: Use analytical tools and techniques, specifically those relevant to the domain community, and deftly uses them to address analytical issues. Demonstrate expertise in information sources relevant to the domain

d. Linking firm's service offerings: Understand and link solutions to current and expected trends and issues in the domain and the assigned accounts (if applicable), and thereby identify business opportunities for the firm

e. Sharing best practices: Develop best practices around sector and account analysis, and share them with peers and colleagues

f. Elicitation: Collect and analyse information from internal and external subject matter experts through various techniques - face-to-face interviews, telephonic interviews, electronic surveys, etc.

2. Project Management

a. Planning and execution: Develops project plans and manages projects, including objectives, timelines, milestones, priorities, team member responsibilities and work products.

b. Monitoring: Monitors progress and regularly updates stakeholders on potential overruns and changes; re-negotiates timelines, scopes changes and budgets if necessary.

c. Collaborating: Develops project work products collaboratively with team members that focus on measurable business impact.

3. People Management

a. Peer review: Review colleagues’ deliverables and advise on research, synthesis and key findings

b. Training: Participate in the training and development of colleagues to develop their understanding of the domain

4. Stake-holder management

Network: Build and maintain relationships largely through virtual interactions withh global stakeholders and/or India practioner(s) (including Partners, directors, senior managers)

b. Industry network: Maintain regular contact with subject matter specialists, both within and outside of the firm

c. Training platforms: Conduct presentations, training, and workshops on key business issues/developments at the sector and account levels

Education

- Relevant tertiary education (e.g., economics, finance or business studies) or equivalent work experience

- Master’s degree or postgraduate qualification an advantage

Work experience

- 10+ years in business analysis, industry research, management consulting or business performance, advising clients in the relevant community

- Detailed knowledge and proven track record in the relevant domain

- Understanding of the domain at global level preferably will be a strong advantage

- Knowledge and experience within a professional services environment an advantage

Skills

- Excellent spoken and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including financial analysis skills

- Good project and time management skills with the ability to complete multiple tasks and meet deadlines

- Expert in information sources relevant to the domain

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office

- Good executive presence and proven ability to build strong working relationships with senior partners , using primarily virtual communication methods

- Self-motivated, with strong work ethic and initiative; proactive in identifying issues and opportunities and delivering insightful solutions

- May require occasional travel
