Aspiring Minds - Engineering Manager - IIT/NIT

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Engineering Manager takes the overall responsibility for development and maintenance of software development projects. S/he is responsible for building, leading, and directing development strategy to build high quality products to achieve business goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible for the product engineering road map, quality assurance and stability of the product.

- Manage a large group of people (30-50) and create an engaging environment; set individual goals, performance and growth for the team.

- Maintain overall view of the projects handled by the team and manage project priorities; you will proactively deep dive for critical points and to achieve major milestones.

- Oversee team wide quality metrics, best practices and coding patterns; you will provide expertise for the engineering strategy and implementation.

- Setup best practices for development and champion their adoption and at the same time, architect & design technically robust, flexible and scalable solutions

REQUIREMENTS

- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent - information technology, management information systems, software engineering, and networking

- Minimum 7 years of experience in SW Engineering, with a minimum of 4 years of experience leading multiple development groups through software development cycles

- Proven experience of software development methodologies, principles, procedures, software management, and support tools and services, preferably in product engineering and development

- Ability to make quick decisions in high pressure environments with limited information.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
