Role : Identifier Job Title : Manager Department JVC Reporting to : Senior Manager JVC Grade M6B Jobs Reporting Into : Officer - JVC&nbsp; Location/Unit : Vakola Role Description : Job Purpose : - Develop new raw materials and new suppliers to achieve material cost savings, reduce supply vulnerability &amp; support new product development initiatives - Project management : Timely completion of projects through effective stakeholder management (R&amp;T, purchase, plant and externally with suppliers) and deployment of the vendor development process (stage - gate process) Primary Responsibilities : Business Responsibility Areas : Key Performance Indicators : Strategic : - Achieve RM cost saving targets through ideation and leading the development projects - Collaborate with purchase for the volume estimates for the next year to prepare estimated savings coming out of new developments - Plan for handling &amp; storage of new raw materials at plants in co-ordination with planning and purchase - Formulate the strategy for development and prioritize the evaluation of raw materials Operational : - Achieve annual target of material cost savings - Develop new vendors to reduce supply vulnerability - Conduct core team meetings with supplier and technology to understand and assess the commercial and technical aspect of any new raw material - Ensure all the commercial &amp; safety related aspects of raw materials are met before it clears stage 1 of project - Review projects regularly with technology and vendors for timely completion - Conduct meetings with suppliers and technology to understand the new developments &amp; innovations in coatings industry - Identify new opportunities for Asian Paints - Discuss the changes in test method and specification of raw materials with technology, inform them to hierarchy and get the same implemented - Co-ordinate with supplier, planning and plant to conclude the shop-floor trials in budgeted timelines - Ensure 100% compliance to Asian Paints quality system - Prepare and circulate MIS on time - Generate ideas on cost saving, quality improvement &amp; vulnerability reduction and get the same evaluated through projects - Provide support to New products in developing new raw materials and ensuring timely availability at plant - Vendor visits with representative from technology so understand the manufacturing process for a raw material and overall supplier capability assessment - Conduct hand over meeting with Purchase and supplier so as to have smooth commercial buying of the material.
