Area Sales Manager - Wines/Spirit & Beverages (6-10 yrs)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Achieve sales objectives as discussed and agreed upon with RSM on a month wise, customer wise and brand wise basis. - 10%

- Ensure proper coverage of the market on a regular basis as per agreed PJP. - 10%

- Ensure close working with distributor sales teams. - 10%

- Ensure all market commitments are fulfilled in a timely manner. - 10%

- Proper and regular reporting on a weekly basis to the Regional Sales Manager. - 5%

- Ensure regular feedback on competitive activity in the market place. - 5%

- Constantly seek opportunities to develop new customers and channels. - 10%

- Keep a track of customer wise sales on a monthly basis for all brands. - 10%

- Ensure proper follow up and implementation of all promotion programs. - 10%

- Maintain and grow relationships with all accounts in the area. - 20%

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS :

INTERNAL :

EXTERNAL :

- Reports to the Regional Sales Manager - South

- Regular update meeting with the Sales Director

- Good working relationship with the other teams, in particular the Marketing, Finance & HR.

- Develop relationships with customers and monitor their performance on a monthly basis.

- Develop strong relationships with the local wines and spirits trade associations.

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED :

Education :

Graduate/Post graduate or equivalent academic qualification.

Languages : English & Hindi

Professional experience & know how :

- 6-9 years- strong exposure in off premise/retail or On- premise - Key accounts experience in wines & spirit & beverages industry.

- Drinks experience (preferably high added value brands) would be ideal, but is not essential.

- Experience in implementing promotional activities is extremely important.

- Prior experience in handling the same area is preferred, although not necessary

Technical & management skills :

- Thorough understanding of FMCG / spirits industry

- Ability to work with a number of divergent brands at the same time.

- A high degree of personal presence with good networking, influencing, negotiation and communication skills

- Strong people management, motivational and change management skills

- Good language skills

- Presentation skills

- Know and understand the market place

- Good PC skills

- Demonstrate a solid functional knowledge base

- A high level of commercial awareness and possess very good analytical skills.

- Good knowledge of wines will be a distinct advantage.

Personal & interpersonal skills :

- Highly motivated individual, energetic, enthusiastic and team orientated

- Able to communicate well and project subject knowledge with confidence

- Commercially and strategically aware, customer focussed, change, results and quality orientated

- Able to plan, organize and prioritize well

- Cross-culturally sensitive

- Self sufficient / self starter

- PC literate

- Challenging and able to take intelligent risks

- Independent decision maker

- Numerical / verbal reasoning ability

- Able to negotiate at a variety of levels (internally & externally)
