Analytics Consultant - Merchants (IIM, FMS only) (3-6 yrs)

The job is for the top US Consulting company. We provide clients with Consulting services and data-driven insights focused on specific customer segments, which help them develop customized marketing and growth strategies. Services offered include identifying consumer spending trends, new product innovation, geographic expansion, customer acquisition and retention, improving marketing and advertising strategies and customer relationship management.

- Prepare Analytics consulting pitch and Recommendation presentations and reports for new product innovation, geographic expansion, customer acquisition and retention, improving marketing & advertising strategies and customer relationship management

- Delivered custom merchant consulting engagements across multiple industry verticals (Airline, Restaurant, Retail, Lodging) to support merchant clients across the Globe

Various Industry Verticals worked on include :

Airlines : Market Analysis, Price - Market Share Analysis, Partnership Analysis, Profiling, Loyalty and engagement analysis along with competitive benchmark to help in growth strategy

Lodging : Market and Wallet Share Analysis and partnered with Marketing team to develop customized and targeted offers to various segments and recommended new product structure

Retail/Restaurants : Lapsed Customer Analysis, Customer Segmentation Analysis and Loyalty Analysis using RFM Matrix, analyzing post lapse behavior, demographics and spending behavior

Car Rental : Instrumental in a successful sales pitch to top US Car Rental company to identify Market for Off Airport segment, relative position with intensity of competition and Growth Strategy

Small Business Industry : Understand small business Spending trends and key drivers across industries to identify how well they have weathered the recession and spending levels

Major Responsibilities :

- Analyze large volumes of transaction and customer data to generate insights and actionable recommendations to drive business growth.

- Build solutions for target marketing and risk management solutions using econometric and statistical modeling techniques

- Create highly predictive models using segmentation and regression techniques to drive profits

- Knowledge of metrics, measurements, and benchmarking to complex and demanding solutions across multiple industry verticals

- Generate key hypotheses and independently structure work at the work stream or project level

- Synthesize analyses into clear, sound recommendations; take responsibility for structuring and writing reports and client ready presentations from a work stream or project level.

- Collect and synthesize feedback from clients, project delivery analysts, and sales teams for new solutions or product enhancements. Provide design specifications, functional and technical requirements for development of new products and solutions.

- Review analytics end-products to ensure accuracy, quality and timeliness.

- Proactively seek new knowledge and structures project work to facilitate the capture of Intellectual Capital with minimal oversight

- Develop effective working relationships with local and global teams including business partners

- If necessary, travel to client sites in India or international locations to deliver analytics projects by collaborating with global teams and clients

Education, Qualifications and Experience :

Education Needed : MBA from IIM, B.Tech/M.Tech from IIT, Master degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, or related quantitative discipline with an emphasis on analytics and business applications is required. Ph.D. preferred.

Experience Needed :

- 3-6 years hands on work experience

- Analytical tools like SQL, SAS, R, Hadoop, Python

- Experience in the Banking industry a plus
