Analyst - PE Fund, equity Research Front office/Back Office candidates only
Job Profile :
The responsibilities overarching responsibilities of this team have three primary components :
Supporting Investment teams :
- At investing stage, providing feedback on valuation and structure of the investment, the exit feasibility for potential investments and identification of critical drivers in the business model to facilitate a successful exit
- Access and insights on industry research and views on sectors in the public and private markets
- Responsible to arrange acquisition financing for leveraged buyouts (LBOs)
- Monitoring the portfolio with continual focus on strategic goals, join ventures, brand building and investor access
Supporting Portfolio companies :
- Creation and monitoring of a customized Exit Scorecard for each investment and focus on critical metrics along with the operations team
- Assisting companies with corporate finance activities including transformative M&A, fund raising, strategic partnerships, JVs etc.
- Facilitating meetings with global strategics and investment firms with interest in the relevant sectors
Managing the Exit Process :
- Identify exit strategy and provide road map to the firm's senior management and co-investors
- Execute the exit by working with bankers, lawyers, portfolio company management, stakeholders to derieve optimal outcomes
Additional responsibilities :
- In addition to the above, the candidate will be actively engaged with with sector coverage bankers and research analysts across investment banks
- Provide weekly updates on Capital Markets in India and gloablly
The candidate should have the following educational and professional qualifications :
- An MBA from a premier management school or a postgraduate degree from a reputable university. Additional qualifications like CFA/FRM will be an added advantage
- 1 to 3 years of experience in investment banking or at a private equity firm
- Strong analytical and modelling skills with sound knowledge of accounting, financial and operational concepts
- Strong Microsoft office skills (such as excel, power-point etc.)
- Ability to run corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions
- Ability to analyse and value businesses
- Commitment to excellence and delivery of highest quality work product
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
- Strong team player
- Demonstrate best in class professional integrity
- Proactive, dedicated, positive, self-motivated and goal oriented
Preferred skills :
- Experience with third party databases like Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, Capital IQ and Dealogic
- Interest in financial markets and familiarity with emerging business, economic and market trends
