Job Description  This position is part of the Global R2R, Financial Accounting and Close - GFO organization and the position will report in to the Director - Oracle and Close Governance.   Key responsibilities of the position :  - Managing GL Reporting & Governance process including access, monitoring & tracking of Inbound (FAH & POD systems) and Outbound systems  - Formulate & drive general ledger controls & governance through Data Mining & General Ledger activity analytics  - Managing the DRM (Reference Data Maintenance) processes, internal automation and other critical projects supporting Global M&A initiatives  - Supporting Release Management and reporting infrastructure including Legal and Management Essbase.  - Ensuring compliance with agreed SLA, internal guidelines, accounting policies/ protocols and regulations that are applicable from time to time ( AXP internal, USGAAP)  - Managing internal and external audits and other submissions to ensure regulatory/ tax compliances  - Manage End to End Close & consolidation process and support Close governance activities.   - Lead and participate in process standardization, automation, consolidation and continuous improvement initiatives including business partner and customer initiatives.  This is a people leadership position. The incumbent should have prior experience of leading a team and should be able to take responsibility for driving and managing a high level of Employee Motivation and Engagement.   Offer of employment with American Express is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background verification check, subject to applicable laws and regulations.  Qualifications  Chartered Accountant with 8+ years of post-qualification experience plus Oracle (ERP) development and deployment.  - Incumbent should have a deep understanding of Oracle ERP functional design with prior implementation experience of Oracle 11i/R12   - Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines   - High level of professional maturity to respond quickly to all issues/queries and have growth mindset  - Proven ability to drive & manage change - demonstrated experience for implementing initiatives towards automation/ standardization of processes   - Analytical capabilities to come up with business insights   - Capability to think - Outside The Box- to offer alternate perspectives and solutions to increase productivity and significantly reduce cost of operations   - Understanding of Amex processes, systems, policies & various AMEX finance practices will be a plus.   - Project management skills will be a plus   Job type- Full Time  Industry Type - Finance   The Apply Button will redirect you to website.
