Job Description : Function Description : - With a focus on digitization, innovation, and analytics, the Enterprise Digital Analytics (EDA) team creates central, scalable platforms and customer experiences to help markets across all of these priorities. EDA has a very broad range of responsibilities, resulting in a broad range of initiatives around the world. - Cornerstone is American Expresss global Big Data ecosystem and a critical enabler of innovation and growth for the company. This function sits within Enterprise Digital and Analytics Group. - The vision for Cornerstone is to centralize data across the company with strong built-in governance, democratize access to a broad user community and optimize company platforms through new synergies. Purpose of the Role : - In this role, as a Senior Manager this person will be working closely with the Business, Technology and Infrastructure partners to address analytical user challenges, drive adoption and improve user experience in the Big Data ecosystem - The B35 leadership position will play a key role in driving efficiency, standardization, accuracy, risk reduction through automation in the Big Data Ecosystem & Query Optimization process and will lead a team of 3-5 members. Problem solving (information seeking, analytically thinking and being proactive) Responsibilities : - The successful candidate should demonstrate strong analytical, data and technical acumen. The position requires the ability to collaborate with a wide range of partners including Senior Leaders to help create strategic solutions and capability roadmap. This position also requires the following : - Self-motivated individual who is able to combine problem-resolution and critical thinking skills with an ability to apply a business lens to recommendations - Liaise with the Onshore Counterparts on Project / Initiatives, provide key recommendations and complete them within agreed timelines - Demonstrate Project Management capabilities to drive business priorities and process improvement initiatives - Manage customer expectations including scope, schedule, changes, and problem resolution - Lead, Mentor & Build a high performing and highly engaged team with diverse talent. - Contribute to recruiting top talent for the team and for EDA - Strong communication and negotiation skills combined with an ability to interact effectively with business leaders, data consumers and technologies Critical Factors to Success : - Lead the solutioning for analytical platform to address analytical user pain points and significantly improve the user experience - Collaborate with the end users in analytics, decision science and reporting to understand their needs, build the product backlog and roadmap - Partner with Technology and Infrastructure teams to deliver the capability features and platform enhancements Past Experience : - 6+ Years Of Systems / Programming / Technical or Project Management Experience - At least 3+ Year of experience using Hadoop Stack such as Hive, Python and Spark - Good Understanding of payments industry & systems will be a plus Academic Background : - An advanced degree in IT or Computer Science. (MCA/ M-Tech / B-Tech) Functional Skills/Capabilities : - Strong analytical, people leadership and problem solving skills and a tremendous will to win. - Excellent Interpersonal skills, Multitasking, and Thought-leadership skills with the ability to influence partners. - Excellent Communication, Collaboration, and Change Management skills Technical Skills/Capabilities : - Proficiency with Hive, Machine Learning Algorithms - Good understanding of Hadoop Stack, MapReduce framework, Spark, Hive, Python, PySpark - Exposure to Distributed RDBMS, NoSQL Databases and big data tools - Experience in algorithm design involving big data - Strong analytical background with experience using digital platforms, advanced data mining techniques - Advanced degree in STEM fields w/ work experience in information management, strategy or the payments business Knowledge of Platforms : 1.
