Function Description:


- Global Services Group (GSG) brings together the company's external and internal servicing functions, and includes the below world-class organizations:


- Global Servicing Network, which provides exceptional care to our external customers, and Global Business Services, which provides many of the vital internal services that make American Express run efficiently. Global Business Services Global Business Services (GBS) is a shared services organization that brings together key internal functions to support all of American Express. GBS colleagues manage procurement, real estate, sales operations & business enablement, and partner with business units to execute complex change initiatives.


Purpose of the Role:


Research and execute innovative techniques to leverage automation and help teams achieve strategic objectives and deliver an excellent customer experience


Responsibilites:


The candidate in this role will be a part of the Decision Support COE (DSCOE) - SE&MRI within Corporate Planning (CP&A) and has responsibility for extending financial process support to the larger team. This role will also be responsible for assisting/delivering on various projects across DSCOE, Finance and Technology teams. This role will have exposure to DSCOE and CP&A leadership and offers the successful candidate the opportunity to create part of the future of the Finance function and leave a legacy within the organization. The major elements of this role include:


- Manage multiple financial processes including ownership and delivery of monthly Segment / Business Unit P&L Reporting & Analysis


- Should be able to lead/ drive the processes to support management reporting.


- Take lead/assist in various Finance projects, assess their potential impact on DSCOE process areas, be an active part of engagement required by stakeholders for effective implementation


- Consistently improve current financial processes vide automation, enhanced controls etc. by adopting best practices and new capabilities


- Partner closely with DSCOE Teams, Controllership, R2R and Technology teams


- Analyzes profit and loss income statements, and prepares reports on findings to make recommendations to management. Participates in the development of long-range financial forecasts and related budgets.


Qualifications/Experience:


- The incumbent should be an MBA from a premier institute or a Chartered Accountant with minimum 2-3 years of post-qualification experience


- Motivated individual with an ability to drive results and work on projects, while understanding and incorporating multiple viewpoints and motivations from a diverse set of stakeholders


- Experience and understanding of Financial Reporting, Planning & Forecasting


- Strong understanding of American Express business processes and financial systems


- Should be Innovative and have a problem-solving approach


- Strong communication skills - verbal and written


- Ability to handle a high-pressure environment with aggressive deadlines while balancing long term / short term impacts and multiple priorities and customers Demand Courage
