Global Commercial Payments (GCP) continues to be a fast growing business within American Express with the key objectives of accelerating growth, increasing profitability, and enhancing product value propositions to meet client needs.   The Data, Strategy & Insights (DS&I) India team within GCP is instrumental in driving these objectives by providing actionable data driven insights and consultative solutions to GCP teams across the globe. The open role is an exciting opportunity to be part of the GCP growth story in a dynamic, intellectually stimulating, open, fun and collaborative environment. DS&I team uses rich closed loop data to build internal and client facing analytical solutions. There is a huge opportunity to better understand our data assets residing in current system (SAGE) and other enterprise systems like Cornerstone, IDN. This position will be responsible for gathering data requirements from various DS&I teams and connect with GCP & other teams to understand data definitions and availability. Thereafter, the individual will deep dive into the data to perform data profiling, including data correctness, completeness & consistency and provide recommendations to the team on the usage of these rich data assets  Key Responsibilities :  - Provide support to development teams in database related queries, script execution, and writing queries.  - Provide analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of access, data, reporting, performance and environment related issues.  - Monitor Application in Production Environment - this includes the periodic monitoring applications/environment through the use of manual and automated means.  - Facilitate outage investigation/restoration of service to Production Environment - organize any conference call, meetings, etc. needed to facilitate the investigation of Production outages/problems and the subsequent restoration of service.  - Communicate status of application production outages - provide periodic pages/e-mails/etc. to application users on the status of any error resolution activities during an outage.  - Monitor system security, application and system event log files - communicate and work with users as necessary to resolve application errors.  - Establish, monitor and evaluate system metrics to identify vulnerabilities and identify problem trends; monitor status, system processes, and user process activity.  - Participate in design reviews to verify that design meets quality standards and functional/technical requirements; make recommendations on functional and technical improvements to the application.  - Demonstrate debugging/break-fixing experience with BI tools (Tableau, Datameer, Microstrategy)  - Offer of employment with American Express is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background verification check, subject to applicable laws and regulations.  Qualifications :  Required Skills and Qualifications:  2 to 3 years of experience  Bachelor's or Master's degree relevant to the industry (other credentials will be a plus)  Strong knowledge of T-SQL, Excel, and exposure towards any BI Tool (MSTR, Tableau, Cognos, Informatica, SAS, Qlickview, etc.)  Experience in RDBMS Concepts, Big Data Concepts (HIVE, HDFS), SDLC Project Methodologies, and ability to interpret requirements, build testable test cases, validate and interpret results.  Good understanding of various data management/processing technologies; ability to reverse engineer and replicate the process.  Working experience of ServiceNow/HP QC/Maximo or any other relevant ITSM Tool  Strong attention to detail and being solution oriented  Strong communication skills and an ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple manner to a global audience  Working knowledge of Banking systems and understanding of relevant service management framework preferable  Job type- Full Time  Industry Type - Finance   The Apply Button will redirect you to website.
