- This Director - Information Security will report to the VP of Security Assurance and be a part of the global Information Security organization and a core member of the India Information Security leadership team.

- The Director of Security Assurance will provide local leadership and drive critical operational programs for multiple US-based Information Security organizations.

- The candidate must be able to function and deliver value within a highly, matrixed global organization with a keen focus on communication, process management, and delivery.

- The successful candidate is expected to hire, mentor, and lead a Security Assurance team, which will be responsible for providing consultative services and technical delivery of multiple Security Assurance programs.

Job Responsibilities :

- Support the VP of Security Assurance as needed

- Lead a team of Information Security Analysts that support Application Security, Infrastructure Vulnerability and Patch Management, Data Loss Prevention, and other Security Assurance functional areas.

- Lead the setup of the team, including organizational design, job design and transition of the function to the team in India.

- Ensure prioritized and escalated work flows are delivered on-time and with exceptional quality - in conjunction with partner organizations in the US.

- Work closely with various groups, such as Network Security Management, Network Operations, Mid-Range and Mainframe Operations, as well as Internal Audit and other compliance teams as needed to support joint programs and operational requirements.

- Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to the team, as well as role modeling behaviors necessary to deliver results in a matrixed organization.

- Provide situational awareness to appropriate personnel through clear and concise communications

- Develop and improve metrics and trending to inform American Express leadership

- Develop and refine procedures and techniques used by the team to continually improve processes

- Drive innovation by collaborating actively with AET teams across the enterprise

- Respond to and assist with assessments and requests

- Participate and lead new projects as needed

Qualifications :

- Undergraduate degree in a science, engineering or other technical discipline

- 7 to 10 years of relevant professional experience directly related to information or cyber security

- Relevant professional certification highly desired

- Experience in an enterprise-level, operationally critical support team

- Experience in an enterprise-level matrixed organization

- Experience with and knowledge of American Express Information Security policies and standards

- Requires proven management and leadership experience with teams of 20 people or more

- Background in one or more core Information Security domains

- Have a practical and solid understanding of several common types of security tools such as: vulnerability assessment and validation, application static or dynamic testing, data loss prevention, and VPN

- Ability to establish well-defined procedures and appropriate mitigation strategies in conjunction with other Information Security teams and in response to process gaps or high risk security vulnerabilities

- Excellent communication and presentation skills with demonstrated skill in presenting analytical data effectively to varied audiences.

- Strong organization and process management skills, ability to develop, lead, and manage high performing teams
