Come make history with Amazon’s legal department.  We are looking for talented Corporate Counsels to support our rapidly evolving and expanding digital products and initiatives.   The position is based in New Delhi/Bangalore.   The Corporate Counsel will report to the, Associate General Counsel and Director Legal based in New Delhi.   - You will serve as the primary lawyer responsible for counseling the business on a broad range of commercial, licensing, technology, and regulatory matters and structuring, drafting and negotiating commercial transactions.   - You will work directly with the business, serving as lead counsel on strategic deals, helping launch new products and services, providing day-to-day advice, resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.  - Principal duties include providing ongoing legal counseling in a wide range of legal areas, including intellectual property, digital media and regulatory compliance and structuring, drafting and negotiating complicated licensing, technology, distribution, marketing and other commercial agreements.   - Some travel, domestic and international, will be required.  Throughout all the above tasks the Corporate Counsel will closely coordinate with the global legal teams and outside counsel.  Competence in a broad range of corporate and business laws is required; especially in the areas of sale of electronic devices, channel contracts, imports etc.  Essential Skills:   Description:  - Competence in broad range of corporate and business laws, especially in both Indian domestic and trans-national commercial transaction and intellectual property (esp. copyright and trademark);  - Extensive experience and strong skills in drafting and negotiating contracts.  - Extensive experience in analyzing and responding to regulatory and compliance matters.   - Excellent ability to analyze and assess business processes, spot issues and propose/implement solutions.  - Ability to function autonomously yet communicate laterally and upwardly with ease.  - Strong legal and business judgment.  - Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.  - Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and coordinate complex issues and projects with diverse levels of management and employees.   Key Competencies:  Competency Description:  Reliability, dependability:  - Works hard and does what it takes to get results and meets deadlines.
