Business Purpose of Role

Amazon procures products, for sale on its website, from millions of vendor partners worldwide. Behind the scenes there is constant effort to maintain relationship with the vendors and involves selection addition, in-stock management, and marketing and merchandising. As a Senior Manager Vendor Success Program you will lead and grow vendor management operations focused on these three tasks for our US marketplace medium and small vendors from India.

The role involves scaling up existing operations to 5x of its current size within a year and will include hiring team members, scaling processes and driving automation of operational processes. This role will closely work senior leadership team in Seattle and in India to scale overall vendor management operations. Key success factors for this role will the revenue impact and cost of operations.

Responsibilities of this leader include:

- Enable Vendor Success: Help Amazon.com vendors be successful by paying attention to what is relevant for them. This requires putting in place a framework that works for multitudes of vendors and their products.

- Enable Amazon Retail Vision: Amazon provides its customers with - The World's largest selection of products- . To support an unprecedented volume of unique products, we also have the world's largest concentration of retail vendor partners. You will define and execute a vision that enables growth of products and business processes required to meet the short and long term needs of the business at scale.

- Scale Business: Work with business partners to standardize and scale business processes to maximize shareholder value and business growth. Continuously work on refining business processes to improve efficiencies and quality.

- Develop Business Solutions: Amazon's retail business is continually evolving. You will work Retail and other internal business partners to understand their business challenges and come up with appropriate solutions to those problems. These solutions will be scalable and take advantage of a technology approach so as to minimize the manual labor in the recommended solution.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have a strong background in operations and will also have exposure to marketing, supply chain, or vendor management. Additionally, you will have a strong blend of product management and project management skills with the ability to conduct in-depth analyses, think big and identify game-changing opportunities. Lastly, you will be expected to deliver solutions and programs that are technology based, highly scalable, secure, and flexible - all while maintaining a strong customer and business partner focus. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to identify, define, and specify solutions meeting our customers and vendors needs.

You will have a demonstrated record of team building and execution in a high volume operational environments and be able to lead not only at the strategic level, but also tactically day-to-day by diving deeply into business and technical domains. This requires a person that is very metrics driven, yet has the vision to scale the business.

This is a high visibility management position and requires sound decision-making capabilities and continuous innovation and execution. The programs that you will lead are viewed by senior management as critical for customer experience and scaling NA retail business.

Basic Qualifications

- MBA from a top-tier institute

- 15+ years of senior level experience in high impact roles in operations including marketing/supply chain/ or vendor management

- Track record of delivering results, setting direction, conceptualizing and implementing transformational initiatives

- Have managed a large team as 3rd or higher-level manager

- Strong track record of recruiting, hiring and developing talent

- High threshold for working in an ambiguous, fast packed environment - figuring it out and adapting as you go

- Ability to operate simultaneously and effectively in both tactical and strategic modes

- A willingness to roll up sleeves to get stuff done

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in eCommerce

- Experience as in-stock manager (managing demand, inventory)
