Role: Manager - Product Management

Location Bangalore

The Amazon India Operations team located in Bangalore is looking for a leader to define, organize and lead high-performing teams across Amazon in delivering projects for our fulfillment centers in India. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team that will be responsible for building a successful, sustainable and strategic business for Amazon.in, from the ground up.

A product manager position in Amazon is a role reserved for the few outstanding leaders with exceptional accomplishments in program and project management. If you feel excited by the challenge of setting the course for large company wide initiatives and being hands-on involved in the delivery of these initiatives, this may be the next big career move for you. The role would be based out of Bangalore.

Job functions:

The ideal candidate will have hands-on project and program management skills, leading large cross-functional projects from definition to launch.

As a Manager-Product management on the team:

Product and Program Management:

- Work with operations and internal software development teams to design, build, and maintain processes and features to help drive fulfillment centre expansion in India.

- Own and manage the Fulfillment centre feature roadmap for adoption with the software development teams using Agile Software Development to deliver customer valued features monthly.

- Clarify and drive short-term project priorities and commitments, as well as establish and maintain clear chains of project management and accountability.

- Interact with Project Sponsors, Technical Program Managers and multiple Development Teams to define and deliver complex features.

Technology Management:

- Work with large software development teams to provide monthly product feature backlog as part of Agile Software Development.

- Ability to develop a detailed understanding of Amazon's e-commerce products and the underpinning services oriented architecture. Define functional requirements for new features.

- Provide documentation on platform functionality, service behavior, and product roadmaps. Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.

- Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.

Basic Qualifications:

- An MBA in operation management or related discipline

- 6+ years of program management and team leadership experience;

- Ability to roll up sleeves and operate as an individual contributor to get the job done; at the same time be able to guide a team toward an objective.

- Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and key partners for the program

- Strong judgment, especially relevant in balancing long term strategic investments with near term business goals.

- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with developers, business owners, and senior business leaders.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline

- Technology background, especially in a service-oriented environment with a deep understanding of software development and e-commerce products.

- Proven track record of leading large cross-functional software projects.

- Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions.
