Category Leader  - Amazon has been successfully building a large and growing marketplace in India focused on meeting Indian consumers needs nationally. Amazon would like to build on this by developing and selling its own brands of Private Label Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) products.  - This is a greenfield opportunity for an entrepreneurial minded leader with Private Label expertise to design and build new CPG brands and products for the world's largest and most successful eCommerce company.  - The Category leader of Private Label Consumables will be responsible for developing the strategic vision for Amazon's Private Label CPG products, and for building and leading the organization to execute this vision. Primary responsibilities include visioning, brand development, product development, sourcing, QA, buying, and merchandising.   Basic Qualifications :  - Brand management experience within a major FMCG company or significant experience in handling private brands for a major retail chain.  - General management experience managing the P&L for a business with significant revenues  - Deep experience running Private Label FMCG businesses for nationally recognized retailers  - Experience with all of the following functional skills - brand development, product development and requirements definition, product sourcing (including negotiating with manufacturers), and quality assurance.  - Experience in merchandising and selling Private Label products / branded products to end customers within a nationally recognized retailer  - Experience in food industry (launching new products / innovation)  Preferred Qualification :  - Work experience across FMCG and/or Retail in building a new segment, channel or category from bottom up  - Entrepreneurial experience, where the candidate built a business from the ground up  - Proven ability to work in ambiguous situations  - Experience in Food is preferred.  Note : Amazon is an equal opportunity employer.
