Assistant Manager - Audit

Position : Assistant Manager

Department : Audit

Location : Bahrain

Reports to : DM/ Manager / Senior Manager

Key accountabilities/ roles / responsibilities:

- Play the in-charge role on the audit engagements

- Draw initial conclusions on client queries, being alert to both commercial concerns and technical accuracy and referring upwards if necessary

- Perform fieldwork on assigned clients, assisting with the setting of budgets and pricing, scheduling audits, selecting staff and assigning workloads, developing the audit strategy, all within the Audit Methodology, and using technology tools

- Identify issues for reporting in the management letter, and other communications with management, and drafts the final documents for review by manager and partner

- Budget time allocation to assignments and explain variances from budget and collects cash on time

- Lead and manage the audit team in the field on large assignments

- Supply or attend briefings which are clearly understood on all assignments

- Ensure completion of audits/projects within agreed timescales and budgets.

Person specification:

Minimum qualifications:

- Graduate degree in Accounting or related field;

- International professional qualification – CA, ACCA, ACA, CPA, CMA, CIA (is a must)

- Knowledge of IFRS

Experience:

- At least 3 years in public auditing and accounting, preferably with a Big 4 Audit firm;

- Knowledge of best practice reporting and International Financial Reporting Standards;

- Some experience outside the normal audit field, such as agreed-upon, accounting support and other transaction support engagements

CTC Breakup:

Gross Salary (Tax free): BD 850 pm/ INR 1,33,500 pm + Other Benefits Like Medical (Self) + Furnishing Allowance & Relocation allowances (once) + Annual Paid Leaves + Performance Bonus + Life Insurance (Self).

Approx. today Rate 1BD = Rs. 157.71 (as on today)

Note: Salaries are fixed and not negotiable.

Current rates for the apartments of reasonable quality are:

- Room Sharing (1 Room) : Starts from BD 60 – 100 per month.

- 1 Bedroom : BD 200 – BD 300 per month

Performance bonus:

You will be eligible for a performance related bonus based on a satisfactory outcome of the annual appraisal that meets or exceeds the requirements and other conditions of the Bonus Scheme. Eligibility for Performance Bonus in the first year of employment is subject to completion of nine months service in that financial year of the firm. i.e. October to September.

Salary Appraisal:

Salaries are reviewed annually based on the firm’s financial year which happens to be Oct-Sept. Increases, if any, are awarded on the basis of merit through the firm's performance management process.

Probation:

You will be under probation for a period of three months during which this contract may be terminated with one week's notice on either side after this period; the contract may be terminated by three month's notice written period on either side.

Annual Passage:

Economy return airfare (You + Wife + 3 Kids) Nearest International Airport in Hometown-Bahrain- Nearest International Airport to Hometown for each year of completed continuous employment with the firm.

Annual Leave:

The Employee will be entitled to 20 – 30 working days leave for every year of continuous service and to proportionate leave for any subsequent incomplete year.

Relocation:

The firm will provide you with temporary accommodation for 10-15 days from the date of your arrival to Bahrain.
