Position Title- Asst Manager – Claims (Litigation, Representations etc

Location - Head Office - Mumbai

Department- Claims

Qualification- Graduate/ MBA, Technical Qualification (III, LOMA etc)

Experience- 5 years

Mandatory requirement- Exp in insurance sector+ Legal background

Role Summary:

1.Responsible for management of all claim cases in Ombudsman offices, Consumer Forums and other courts

2.Responsible for all management of Claim related complaints or representations received through IRDA or TALIC offices including presenting cases to CRCM.

Stakeholders:

Internal - Assessment Team, underwriting team, Zonal Team, MIS,IT,POS, CS, Legal & Compliance

External-IRDA, Ombudsman Offices, External legal consultant, Claim investigators

Key Result Areas:

Handling Litigation cases:

- End to end handling of all Ombudsman and Litigation (consumer forums/ court) cases for Claims department

- Compliance of awards

- Assessment of notices received from Consumer forums and courts

- Liaise with and provide required inputs to Legal team to prepare SCN / WS / appeal memo for Ombudsman / Consumer Forum cases

- Maintain records of all litigation / Ombudsman cases and share learnings with the team members.

IRDA complaints

- Review case and submit reply in time.

- Ensure compliance to actionables.

Claim Representations

- Provide details of all representation cases to the Complaints team

- Present cases to the CRCM

- Ensure compliance of all actionables

Skills Required:

Technical:

- Claims Processing.

- Sound knowledge of product contracts.

- Knowledge of medical terminologies.

- Legal Updates.

- Industry practice.

- Regulatory guidelines.

- Presentation skills.
