Altisource - Manager - Compliance (5-12 yrs)

Key Responsibilities :

- Recognize legal and compliance issues specific to data privacy and servicing of mortgage loans

- Advise on policies and practices for the collection and storage of NPII, PII, data protection and privacy, cyber security and related regulatory matters Advise product teams about cyber security issues, identify legal/regulatory issues and make recommendations to product teams, breaking down legal and technical concepts into simple terms

- Collaborate with customers to assess possible solutions and decide on the best approaches to mitigating compliance risks

- Demonstrate compliance with data privacy and security laws to customers, auditors and other third party entities

- Review business requirements documents to ensure compliance with data privacy and cyber security standards

- Organize and facilitate meetings; develop and provide presentations for diverse audiences on compliance activities

- Review activities to assess legal and contractual compliance responsibilities

The desired candidate would have the following skills and experience :

- Some combination of the following - BA or BS, Juris Doctor (JD); 5+ years of experience working in legal/compliance with a focus on information security, privacy and technology

- Knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) PII protection guidelines

- Certifications in cyber security or data privacy

- Expertise with technical and regulatory components related to privacy and GLBA, familiarity with related state and federal regulations (e.g. Safeguards Rule, HIPAA Privacy Rule, California SB1)

- Experience working with auditors and regulators such as the CFPB, New York Monitor, or California Monitor to demonstrate compliance with cyber security standards

- Knowledge of mortgage servicing and consumer finance laws (e.g. RESPA, TILA, SCRA, FDCPA, FCRA) a plus

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Positive, solution-oriented outlook and thrives on both team collaboration and individual execution

- Must be proficient with Microsoft Applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; proficiency with SharePoint is a plus

- Excellent relationship building skills/working cross-functionally to ensure alignment on all activities; ability to effectively influence and partner across many organizational levels

- A strong 'attention to detail' orientation, with a desire to understand the underlying layers of the operational ecosystem - customer service, operations, technology, legal, compliance

- Strong time management skills; ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on quality, completeness and accuracy

- Demonstrated superior work performance and intellectual curiosity to achieve results

- Ability to maintain confidentiality
