Alliance Tire Group - Finance Controller - Indian Operations - CA (14-18 yrs)
Job Overview:Overall supervision of Accounts and Finance functions for the Indian entity, comprising 2 factories (SEZ and EOU units) and Head Office, covering Accounting, MIS, Budgeting, Taxation, Compliance and Treasury.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting:
- Monthly MIS for Group reporting together with required analysis.
- Quarterly and Annual IFRS reporting for Group consolidation.
- Responsible for timely completion of Statutory (under IFRS and IGAAP), Internal and Cost Audits.
2. Financial Analysis and Planning:
- Prepare annual financial budget for the Indian entity in co-ordination with other functions and factories.
- Carry out detailed financial analysis to explain key variances or changes in trend and to make critical recommendations.
- Provide Quarterly Forecasts as required
3. Treasury:
- Arrange working capital financing at competitive terms from banks.
- Arrange project funding (INR term loans, ECB, etc) for expansion of capacity and setting up new factories.
- Ensure adherence to the forex hedging policy and cover forex exposures via forward contracts, options, etc as required.
- Invest surplus finds to optimize returns in line with group policy.
- Manage bank relationships effectively
- Provide required funding and finance structures for the business operations.
4. Internal Controls & Compliance
- Ensure effective working of internal controls
- Full compliance of financial reporting with SOX reqmts
- Ensure timely updation of, and full compliance to, Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure compliance to legal reqmts relevant to Finance (RBI, Tax-related, Companies Act, etc)
5. Taxation
- Optimise tax liability for the company (both Direct and Indirect taxes) and advise on changes in business structure/ model required as appropriate
- Ensure compliance of the related party transactions with Transfer Pricing regulations with adequate documentation
6. People Management
- Ensure cost effective delivery of support to business with optimal size of team with relevant skills
- Continuous upgrading of the skills of team member to cope with business reqmts
- Identification, career planning and development of key talent
Key Performance Indicators:
- Finance function seen by internal customers as effective support to business
- Timely and accurate reporting
- Timely completion of audits and filing of financial statements
- Optimal cost of funds
- No significant issues reported in Statutory and Internal audits
- Smooth completion of tax assessments without any additional tax impact
- Retention and development of key team members
- Motivated and high performing team
- No adverse consequences to company due to non-compliance to Law, Company Policies and SOPs
Competencies Required:
- Chartered Accountant (essential); preferably passed at first attempt
- Exposure to business and manufacturing operations
- Experience in dealing with banks and financial institutions for funds raising and forex hedging
- Ability to understand business requirements and align the functional priorities accordingly and be a good business partner
- Fully conversant with both Indian GAAP and IFRS reporting
- Strong control orientation, along with ability to balance control requirements with business support
- Conversant with both Direct Tax and Indirect Tax matters for a manufacturing organization, preferably with familiarity of SEZ and EOU operations
- Strong inter-personal skills to be able to deal with Group Functional Heads, Board of Directors and Investors independently
- Good communication skills with ability to carry the other functions for key initiatives
- Ability to manage a large team effectively
