AGM-Vehicle Armouring and Protection

Job Description:

- Seeking for appointing a person responsible for vehicle protection especially related to the area of vehicle armouring.

- The protection of vehicle will include entire range of threats covering ballistic, artillery, blast and IED (Improvised Explosive Device).

The competency of Armouring Science and Protection related knowledge includes followings:

a. The knowledge of different testing standards and certification for protection

b. The awareness of the best practices of world in field of vehicle armouring and body in white armouring

c. The best methods for armoured protection in different areas like ballistic, artillery, blast and IED etc to be known.

d. To be well versed with the different protection materials and their manufacturers as in India and world over

e. The knowledge of different benchmarks of defence vehicles in India and mostly outside India

f. Indian testing and manufacturing conditions awareness related to protection

g. Robust experience on the quality plan/ methodologies building for vehicle protection

h. Conversant with life cycle support for vehicle armouring and should be aware of the cost effective methods for vehicle armouring repairing.

- The role will demand a high level of technical interchange through internal and external working groups, representing the team as the principle technical contact for vehicle protection building.

- The person will be reporting to Mr Rajiv Pant (he being the main responsible for vehicle protection)

Required Skills:

The person should have minimum 8 to 10 years experience in the relevant field.

1. To be holding: B E (Mtech/ Auto) and/ or M E/ M tech (design) and/ or Ph. D. (vehicle blast/ ballistic protection)

2. To be well versed with the requirements and current practices of Indian defence

3. To be knowledgeable about the ammunitions and weapons, as being used in Indian army and world over

4. To be have knowledge of vehicles design, building and integration

5. To be well versed with the manufacturing processes for vehicles

Desired Skills:

1) Experience of working in the area of light vehicle armouring (up-armouring / BIW armouring) for 4 to 5 years (~3 to 4 vehicle projects)

2) The person from DRDO/ DMRL preferred.

3) Ex-army officer with short or long service preferred.
