- Thought Leadership and Client Programs team provides quantitative and qualitative analytical support to senior Global strategic analyst in areas pertaining to IPOs, PE, VC, economic research, entrepreneurship, innovation, etc. This role creates impact in strategic decision-making by providing insightful analysis based on deep domain knowledge, using a range of analytical tools and techniques as well as internal and external databases. The analyst anticipates trends and issues in the business, tracks key players and presents analysis to target audiences including the assigned community team, firm leadership and the company's clients.

- The analyst supports the assigned community by leading, managing and contributing to complex research and analysis projects, including the design and delivery of products and services in response to customer needs. The analyst, in conjunction with the community leadership and other support managers (in knowledge, operations, business development, etc), also helps drive the creation of thought leadership to differentiate the firm in the marketplace. Additionally, the analyst is also responsible for coaching customers on the use of knowledge tools and assisting customers to identify resources that address their requests.

Function and team overview

- This is a global team of professionals that helps the company's sector and account teams to understand their clients’ business environments, win work and deepen relationships by providing enabling services, tools, insights and content. Knowledge is part of the company's Markets organization.

About the team: SMI is the a globally connected research and analysis function of the firm's Knowledge with presence across several countries includingIndia. The Thought Leadership & Client Programs team supports the key stakeholder groups in the company marketing to produce firm-wide thought leadership and marketing collateral such as attractiveness surverys and studies on subjects including global economic and investment trends.

Essential Functions

1. Research and analysis

a. Predictive analysis: Un-packs events into key drivers and causes to develop multiple hypotheses, investigate alternatives and recommend solutions. Draw together information from primary and secondary sources to prove or disprove hypotheses.

b. Leveraging relevant information sources: Use analytical tools and techniques, specifically those relevant to the domain community, and deftly uses them to address analytical issues. Demonstrate expertise in information sources relevant to the domain

c. Linking firm's service offerings: Understand and link company's solutions to current and expected trends and issues in the domain and the assigned accounts (if applicable), and thereby identify business opportunities for the firm

d. Sharing best practices: Develop best practices around sector and account analysis, and share them with peers and colleagues

e. Elicitation: Collect and analyse information from internal and external subject matter experts through various techniques - face-to-face interviews, telephonic interviews, electronic surveys, etc.

2. Project Management

a. Planning and execution: Develops project plans and manages projects, including objectives, timelines, milestones, priorities, team member responsibilities and work products.

b. Monitoring: Monitors progress and regularly updates stakeholders on potential overruns and changes; re-negotiates timelines, scopes changes and budgets if necessary.

c. Collaborating: Develops project work products collaboratively with team members that focus on measurable business impact.

3. People Management

a. Peer review: Review colleagues’ deliverables and advise on research, synthesis and key findings

b. Training: Participate in the training and development of colleagues to develop their understanding of the domain

4. Stake-holder management

a. Build and maintain relationships largely through virtual interactions with global stakeholders and/or company's India practioner(s) (including Partners, directors, senior mangers)

b. Industry network: Maintain regular contact with subject matter specialists, both within and outside the firm

c. Training platforms: Conduct presentations, training, and workshops on key business issues/developments at the sector and account levels

Position requirements

Education

- Relevant tertiary education (e.g., economics, finance or business studies) or equivalent work experience

- Masters degree or postgraduate qualification an advantage

Work experience

- 8+ years in corporate environment

- Detailed knowledge and proven track record in the relevant domain

- Understanding of the domain at global level preferably will be a strong advantage

- Knowledge and experience within a professional services environment an advantage

Skills

- Excellent spoken and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including financial analysis skills

- Good project and time management skills with the ability to complete multiple tasks and meet deadlines

- Expert in information sources relevant to the domain

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office

- Passionate about research and analysis, and its practical application in the corporate environment

- Good executive presence and proven ability to build strong working relationships with senior partners of the firm, using primarily virtual communication methods

- Excellent team player; comfortable working in a virtual environment; ability to peer review work and mentor colleagues

- Ability to work under pressure with limited supervision, and produce timely deliverables in a fast-paced environment

- Self-motivated, with strong work ethic and initiative; proactive in identifying issues and opportunities and delivering insightful solutions

- Holds high level of attention to detail

- May require occasional travel
