Job Description

Candidate Profile - Have led actuarial teams and have strong knowledge of actuarial processes and a background in data/databases. As the Manager in this role you will lead a team of analysts, co-ordinate work schedules on key engagements with global offices, mentor and train junior staff on processes. You would have exposure in leading and building teams and managing overall goals. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to work directly with business. The successful candidate will lead teams providing support to pricing and related actuarial and analytical services for the Global Commercial businesses.

Key Responsibilities would include:

- Lead and mentor a team of junior analysts in analyzing pricing, rate monitoring and retention data

- Coordinate the team's work schedule and make adjustments to ensure that timelines are met

- Prepare actuarial reports to help the business effectively manage existing portfolios

- Accurately interpret and effectively communicate results to the pricing management

- Review the work of team members for accuracy, completeness and reasonability. Ensure all work is appropriately documented

- Effectively interact and assist pricing actuaries around the globe

- Assist with development and implementation of strategies for risk segmentation, technical pricing and underwriting for profitable growth

- Communicate with underwriting to research and resolve issues quickly and escalate issues appropriately

- Contribute to and support the team's best-practices framework

- Support other corporate requirements for Actuarial Pricing

- Continue pursuit of actuarial designation

Job Requirements Skills required would include:

- Bachelors or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related area.

- Candidates who are partly qualified or close to qualification with good examination progress (Casualty Actuarial Society and Institute/Faculty of Actuaries UK and India) or advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, and Economics will be preferred.

- 8-11 years of actuarial experience in property and casualty insurance preferred. Pricing experience and / or reserving experience necessary.

- Familiarity with US and European markets will be necessary

- Strong organizational, project management and leadership skills

- Effective training and mentoring skills

- Takes initiative on projects and assignments, seeks alternate solutions

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

- Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines

- Works well both independently and as part of a team

- Excellent business and collaboration skills, and responsive to service needs and operational demands

- Culturally astute, dealing with - clients- from around the globe

- Proficiency in Excel, Access, VBA, SAS, SQL or other programming languages
