Actuarial Internal Auditor (2-7 yrs)
Job Title - Internal Audit (Actuarial specialism)
Reports to : Director Internal Audit
Overall Job Purpose
To carry out Internal Audit engagements in support capacity under the supervision and guidance of BU Lead auditors/ Managers within GwIA.
Other activities may include:
- Support the analysis of financial risk and provide challenge and assurance that appropriate translation is taking place in first line capital assessments and modelling
- Support Assurance activity within Risk as appropriate
- Support UK Risk ownership and validation of the firm’s internal model
The individual may also be required to participate in the following tasks:
- Provide risk oversight and challenge for the implementation of Financial Risk Management strategy including the application of any 1st Line Risk Management/Mitigation strategies.
- Ensure embeddedness of and compliance with:
- Risk Management policies (UKIO and Group)
- Model Governance Policies
- SYSC policies
- Approved risk appetite and tolerance, including proposed mitigation approaches
- 1st line business management guidelines
- Other standards and policies as appropriate
- Partner the business in the development of stresses, and scenarios for use in the Internal Model and the overall system of governance.
This job will involve significant travel outside India.
Criteria to Apply
1. Candidate should have 3-4 years of experience in Actuarial
2. Relevant actuarial work experience based on Life, General, Pensions or Health
3. Should have cleared a minimum 7-8 actuarial papers
4. Should have worked on a variety of actuarial processes during his/her tenure (for e.g. Pricing, valuation, product support, etc.)
5. Good understanding and knowledge of Actuarial modelling techniques
6. Good understanding and knowledge of actuarial tools, techniques and procedures (including control frameworks for actuarial processes)
7. Ability to interpret simple and complex actuarial formulae
8. Awareness of reporting and regulatory requirements (At least one of Solvency 2, Embedded Value, Statutory and Realistic Reporting)
9. Knowledge of Actuarial processes and standards
10. Understanding of actuarial risks and control frameworks
11. Preferred exposure of interaction with UK management
12. Ability to gather, summarise, and examine data or information and identify implications of findings
13. Flexible approach to responsibilities, working hours and travel to the UK
14. Good time management, interpersonal & communication skills
15. Proficient with Office applications
