Job Summary :

- We are seeking an experienced Manager / Tax Professional with experience in India cross-border tax advisory to join our APAC team. The role will be based out of Bangalore.

- An Employee Tax & Immigration Advisory Lead within Global Tax is a key position in our organization. Generally these Leads are Subject Matter Experts in several areas (immigration, income and social taxes, policies, compensation plans) for domestic and cross border employees. They also generally have strong individual tax expertise that enables them to cover both domestic and cross border equity plans issues.

- An Employee Tax & Immigration Advisory Lead is accountable for delivery of Tax and Immigration Advisory Services and for managing tax and immigration risk and compliance for the country(ies) of responsibility within their Region/ Geographic Unit or Area.

- This role will manage India specifically and supervise other team members.

- Advisors within the team are engaged in high visibility issue resolution and it is expected that in addition to their own geographical responsibilities, the area lead will also contribute to global tax and People Mobility initiatives for the APAC region or globally.

- They also closely partner with the on-shore mobility service delivery teams, offshore service delivery teams and the People - Mobility GU Coordinator to ensure the smooth delivery of People Mobility(PM) operations by the relevant teams.

Role Overview :

The role will provide Advisory Services for India specifically in the 3 following areas :

- Helping Client Engagements make well-informed staffing decisions during proposal/deal shaping.

- Supporting Mobility Managers for complex assignees with regards to tax planning opportunities, especially in the equity tax area

- Managing Risk and compliance for tax, immigration, and accounting principles

- Have regular interaction with Accenture stakeholders/leadership, other internal teams including the People Mobility GU Lead,PM on-shore and offshore teams and external vendors.

- Involve the direct supervision of an Employee Tax & Immigration Advisory team member located within the same office, and indirectly supporting team members based in offices in other countries within the region, if applicable.

An Employee Tax & Immigration Advisory Lead will :

- Supervise and provide employee tax planning and risk management for country(ies) of responsibility with the objective of minimizing tax costs for Accenture, as well as Accenture's Senior Executives/employees/cross border assignee.

- Be directly responsible for managing relationships with key executives and others outside of the team. Regular accountability to others outside of team.

- Have accountability to other internal groups for Accenture and be responsible for decisions that impact an area/group outside the team regarding Employee Tax and Immigration Advisory Services (liaise with Controller-ship, Finance, HR, Legal where appropriate)

- Supervises the management of tax and immigration vendor relationships,negotiates vendor contracts/service levels and addresses service issues.

- Have significant direct financial responsibility for country(ies) of responsibility (for example: savings regarding tax planning opportunities, tax audits costs or savings)

- Have large influence on the business/ ongoing interaction with business leadership

- Lead or be an active participant in, manage or supervise others in 1 - 3 additional global projects or initiatives

- Ensure control points for managing risk and compliance with PM on-shore and offshore teams.

- Provide input on tax and immigration implications for all Mobility policies.

- Be responsible for and ensure implementation of any employee tax & immigration policy changes in line with global guidelines and legislative changes in country(ies) of responsibility

- Monitor regulatory changes in the tax and immigration space in countries of responsibility, and guide the PM delivery teams in implementing necessary changes to positions and processes as a result.

Develop and Lead teams & Training :

An Employee Tax & Immigration AdvisoryLead develops and leads an organization that serves as the center of expertise for all employee tax and immigration related services around the world :

- Provide guidance and functional expertise to their report;

- Set goals, deliverables and manage career development fortheir report;

- Monitor volume of workload against team size and escalate issues to their direct report

- Ensure all global training programs developed are taken by their team.

Relationships :

Reports to : APAC Employee Tax & Immigration Lead

Supervises : Team members in their Area, GU or country.

External Relationships : Tax service provider, tax authorities, immigration authorities, immigration service provider, People Mobility GU Lead,PM on-shore and off-shore teams, Legal, Corporate Tax, HR.

Qualifications :

Education : University degree or equivalent higher education qualification

Qualification in a related field (e.g. Tax, immigration) an advantage

Work Experience :

- 9+ years with a big 4 expatriate tax department, and/or managing expatriate administration in a large multinational corporation required.

- Experience of managing a team required

- Previous experience of financial administration an advantage.

Knowledge/Skills Requirements :

- Strong leadership skills

- Strong customers service and advisory skills

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Experience of supervising and managing a remote, multi-cultural team

- Good foundation in international tax

- Immigration technical skills are preferred, however not essential - thorough training in this area will be provided to the successful applicant

- Deep technical expertise to render relevant tax and/or immigration advice across the region

- Strongcommunication and interpersonal skills

- Strong conflict management skills

- Ability to pay attention to detail essential

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills

- Strong organizational abilities

- Ability to work to tight deadlines and multi task

- Management of delivery of external professional advice

- Strong Negotiation skills
