Position : General Manager - Land Survey business.
Location : Oman ( Middle East )
Company : The company is Oman’s second biggest land surveying company with a strategic position that allows it to dominate and in future to actually control the surveying market in the country. It has a client list of every major consultancy and construction company in the nation as well as a large number of Government departments besides the oil and gas sector. From a troubled beginning, the Company has turned around completely and is now a profitable entity. It closed 2008 with 13 survey crews (up from 3), revenues of around $ 1.2 million, and a net profit of over $ 200,000. It is projected to grow to 20 crews within the next 12 months. It also has the potential of adding on highly lucrative aerial and marine survey wings.
Candidate : The General Manager should be a qualified Civil Engineer with a Survey + general management background. Experience of around 8-12 years. He will function as a profit centre head and be responsible for Business Development and all aspects of day to day operations.
The appointee will need to develop new business and liaise effectively with Ministries and other clients on technical and commercial matters. While the candidate need not be a pure survey person, business development experience is critical.
