Reporting to City Manager Job Description * This is a senior leadership role that involves managing the Credits Operations, in both day-to-day operational management as well as in setting & executing strategic priorities. The role involves independently managing the function- people and process. * The role involves providing inputs on strategy, drawing up and implementing strategic initiatives for the Credits Operations. * Maximize the resource utilization across different business lines to ensure the effectiveness of the emerging strategies. * Encourage good communication amongst all levels of staff, conduct regular meeting, coaching, and mentoring. Identify training needs and effectively apply the appraisal system, and consequently maintain a satisfactory level of attrition. * Manage end to end pre & post approval Credit Operations (pre and post approvals). Act as a point of reference for advice and guidance to the team members across the Credit Operations function. * Manage effectively migration / remigration / projects, interacting with training / business and project teams. * Developing process expertise in the team by effective coaching & leadership. Team management involving recruitment, training, development, motivation and performance management. It would also involve appropriate succession planning & managing staff engagement levels. * Ensure relationship building and appropriate engagement with all stakeholders. * Understand, follow & demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal & external rules, regulations, policies & procedures that apply to the conduct of the business involved. Specifically Internal Controls & any Compliance policy including inter alia, Group Compliance policy. * Maintain HSBC Internal Control standards, including the timely implementation of internal & external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators. * Be aware of, take responsibility for and manage the Operational Risks associated with the functions and ensure the team acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations. Adhere strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with Company and regulatory standards, policies and practices; report control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events.
Skills/Experience Required * Graduate with preferably CA/ CWA/ MBA degree. * 10 years of post qualification experience of working in an MNC BPO/KPO into cards/mortgages or credit operations. * Excellence in people management and team building skills and proven ability to lead a workforce of over 300 persons; * Understanding of banking asset products viz. – term loans, working capital financing, trade facilities, bank guarantees, bill/invoice discounting, factoring, foreign currency lending etc would be an added advantage. * Strong analytical skills with ability to quickly interpret data & facts to arrive at meaningful conclusions * Strong leadership skills evidenced by achievement of objectives together with a track record of development of individuals. * Strong interpersonal skills. Proven ability to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively with global business heads, senior managers, technical experts amongst the stakeholders * Resilience under pressure and be able to work efficiently in order to meet aggressive deadlines. Demonstrated ability to prioritise competing demands * The candidate must show attention to detail, have excellent communication skills in English both oral & written, and be committed to producing work of the highest quality.
