Editor- Publications (7-10 years)

Intellecap seeks an experienced Editor to direct its two publications, Beyond Profit and Microfinance Insights. The position entails management and supervisory responsibility, as well as idea generation, content creation, and editing.  

Position: Editor- Publications

Location: Mumbai, India

Experience/Education:
    * Masters degree in English, journalism, or related fields;
    * Knowledge of financial inclusion, social enterprise and development highly desirable;
    * 7-10 years prior experience writing, editing, with experience leading a team.

Skills:
    * Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
    * Creativity and ability to generate story ideas, ability to bring unique insights and guide editorial direction for both publications;
    * Superb editing ability;
    * Possess an entrepreneurial attitude, ability to look beyond the obvious and work on multiple tracks even under strict timelines;
    * Strong skills on liasoning with sector stakeholders – private, public, government and academia;
    * Skills and/or experience to drive the online publication model utilizing new age media tools.

Responsibilities:
    * Direct the strategy and growth of two niche publication brands- Microfinance Insights and Beyond Profit;
    * Manage the board of advisors;
    * Create a growing network of experts, contributors and writers for both publications;
    * Lead content creation for sector forums, workshops and programs that Intellecap organizes;
    * Manage, guide and mentor a team of editors, writers, researchers and freelancers in content creation, as well as production of multimedia products like A/V interviews, slideshows, photo essays, etc;
    * Utilize new media tools for smart dissemination and traffic generation;
    * Grow brand visibility through strategic partnerships, tie-ups, dissemination, superior content creation;
    * Report on current trends, and lead research on news and trends;
    * Conceive and oversee special projects including generation of primary research products;
    * Edit final copy;
    * Travel domestically and internationally, as needed, to promote brands, speak at conferences, meet with potential partners.
