POSITION SUMMARY:  
 
The role of the software sales executive is focused on revenue generation for the Datacenter Software and Services for the Data Center Software (DCSW) business including Enterprise Software, Enterprise Management and related Professional Services.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-8 years of software sales experience or similar datacenter experience, selling complex software packages into enterprise class customers or demonstrated understand of datacenters and selling into datacenter managers.  Working as a sales “expert” within the specific zones, the candidate must be able to cultivate senior (CxO-Level) relationships directly with clients, engaging with Datacenter Managers as well as be able to assist the “generalist” sale team in closing software opportunities.

This person will be held responsible for the sales quota in the specific region or zone and will report to the DCSW business. A technical background and degree is preferred and prior experience in software sales is a must.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

80 %  - Engaging with clients, co-visits, seeking out new opportunities and building upon existing

10 %  - Transferring knowledge to “generalist” sales team about software sales process and conduct training of sales teams and support events for end-customers

10 %  - * Maintaining funnel and pipeline for the local region to track progress.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:   
    * Responsible for generating revenue for the DCSW business within the specific zone
    * Responsible for new customer acquisition and retention
    * Responsible for aiding and assisting the ‘generalist’ sales force in closing new business
    * Responsible for working very closely with DCSW management
    * Responsible for personal pipeline management and management reporting
    * Responsible for acquiring customer feedback and reporting back to DCSW

EXPERIENCE FURTHER DEFINED  
    * Proven understanding of datacenters and IT management
    * 5-8 years experience in enterprise software sales
    * Proven success selling complex software packages
    * Proven track record of at or above quota performance
    * Proven ability to sell at the “C-level”.
    * Relentlessly customer centric and focused
    * Goal and results oriented
    * Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    * Excellent time management skills
    * Ability to perform a “player-coach” role with the generalist sales force
    * Fluent in English (written and spoken)
    * B.S. Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical degree, MBA is a plus
    * Fluency in the predominant language of the zone is required
    * Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products.

KEY PROFESSIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:  
    * Assume liaison role with decision makers in local sales management as well as the DCSW.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:
Computer: Must be knowledgeable on APC reporting systems

Mental: Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and motivate influencer’s across the organizational boundaries to achieve the corporate and team goals.

Physical: Must be able to travel
