Job Description

 - Build the supply chain function covering planning, procurement, warehousing, EOU and distribution

 - Planning – working with sales / marketing and global supply chain for manufacturing and procurement plan

 - Prepare manufacturing plan and scheduling in close coordination with Manufacturing, QA and Global functions

 - Perform Supplier/ vendor selection and management in consultation with QA. Develop local vendors for global products with focus on quality.

 - Demand management of materials sourced from affiliates

 - Execution of Export orders as per schedule

 - Compliance to EOU requirements and ensuring that all activities during project and manufacturing phase are progressing according to plans.

 - Preparing and reporting on various global KPIs. Maintaining service levels.

 - Timely preparation of reports as required by  global functions

 - Coordinating with global  sales and planning for forecast and MPS/MRP respectively

 - Warehouse operations and EOU matters in total compliance to regulatory guidelines. Responsible for authority inspections

 - Benchmarking, Process Designing, Implementation and Optimization in the area of procurement, warehousing and distribution function of Supply Chain

 - Working with ERP function for implementing and streamlining processes

 - Inventory management and control

 - Defining and implementing Sales and Operations plans

 - Warehousing policies and compliance to safety requirements

Experience / Requirements

 - 12 – 15 years Experience of which 3 -5 years at a senior manager level in supply chain function of reputed pharma or chemical companies. Should be hands on in procurement and vendor development / management. Experience in capital items and indirect purchases would be an advantage.

 - Proven experience in cost reduction through procurement, hands on experience in contracts and negotiations to build long strategic advantage

 - Knowledge of product costing and impact analysis to focus constantly on improving efficiencies and COGS

 - Deep knowledge of vendor / supplier base in India and overseas for cost and quality advantage. Knowledge of capital goods industry and services would be an added advantage.

 - Ability to work in cross functional teams and in a global matrix organisation

 - Hands on experience in ERP systems – SAP environment preferred

 - Should have faced regulatory inspections like US FDA/ EU for the warehouse/ supply chain parts

 - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven leadership

 - Knowledge of excise, EOU and related tax issues a must
