Purpose of Department:
Commercial Recovery Unit is a new function forming part of the Lending Services Department within HBEU Credit & Risk. Its primary purpose will be debt recovery from UK based commercial customers. This work will include:
- Direct negotiation with delinquent borrowers/guarantors for debt repayment
- Instructing and monitoring litigation action
- Supervising company insolvencies (liquidations and administrations) to maximise dividends
- Undertaking administrative operations (e.g. booking/maintaining impairment records and monitoring recovery action plans)
Job Description:
The job holder will be responsible for:
Managing approximately 200 relationships of SME (Small & Medium Enterprise) & personal accounts.
Negotiating with the debtor/guarantor for debt repayment
Maintaining regular correspondence with debtors/guarantors to reduce TAT’s for repayments
Instructing and monitoring litigation action against debtors/guarantors/companies
Supervising company insolvencies (liquidations & administrations) to maximize dividends
Skills/Experience Required:
MBA or equivalent preferable
Prior experience of at least 2-3 years into Retail or Corporate collection is preferable
Knowledge of international collection/risk management would be an added advantage
Candidate should have strong communication skills – both verbal and written.
Candidate should have very strong negotiation skills and a knack for handling delinquent customers
Knowledge about insolvencies, bankruptcies, IVA’s, liquidations in UK would be preferred
Candidate should have prior knowledge of repossession and money judgment proceedings in UK.
Candidate should be willing to work on strict deadlines and should be an excellent team player
Candidate should have ability to meet and exceed various financial targets set from time to time
