                           THE ROLE, JD & KRAs


A. Expected Roles and Responsibilities of the Pharma Industry Support Unit
Horizontal SME

1. Quality
  a) Periodic reviews of all projects
  b) Support in improving the quality  across clients
  c) Support QC Compliance/Regulatory Compliance
  d) Keep abreast of marketing trends and utilize the ideas  in the
     verticals

2. General
  a) Best Practice sharing across all projects
  b) Drive process Improvements across all projects
  c) Query handling of associates
  d)  Standardization  of  metrics and setting benchmarks across projects.
     Metrics   could   be   on  productivity,  time,  quality,  Financial,
     attrition, seat utilization etc
  e) Sharing specifics metrices in a dashboard across projects
  f)  Attend  client  meetings  with  project manager & report to Industry
     Support Unit leader

3. Business Development
  a. Support to Business Development  - RFP response, Presentations
  b. Support in Transition especially at the early stages of the project.
  c. Represent TCS in national/international forums

4. Learning and Development
     a.    Implement the Pharma training plan
  b. Make the training plan more robust  - so as to shorten the time
     period to make the person productive
  c. Asset Development (training modules, Dashboards,
     reusable/productivity tools development) and constant upgradation,
     refresher trainings.
  d. Liaise with external training agencies

5. Recruitments
  a. Support recruitments – evolve JDs, help in recruitments


B. KRAs for Pharma Industry Support Unit Horizontal SME

  1.  End  game  –  Deliver  10 % Y-o-Y productivity through benchmarking,
     methods, improvements
  2. No of Process improvements across clients
  3. No of metrices firmed up
  4. No of trainings conducted.
  5. No of escalations prevented
  6. No of Tie-up with Institutes

C. JD for Industry Support Unit SME

Title: SME

Reporting: Industry Support Unit leader

Role Objective: To serve as a second set of eyes for his domain in each
vertical. To evaluate metrics, best practices, quality & training across
verticals so as to ensure standardized & high quality delivery to all
clients. To assist in BD.

Role requirements:

  a) Graduate or post graduate in statistics, doctorate, experience in
     statistical techniques, programming, SAS, writing stat, clinical
     reports, analytical skills in report generation.
  b) Problem Solver
  c) Mentor
  d) Leadership Skills
  e) 10+ Years of experience, 7 years  in the area of Expertise
