Location: A very large, leading, professionally managed
manufacturing organisation - leaders in their field and amongst the largest organisations in the field.
The position is based in Mumbai and reports to the CEO.
The position will involve heading the entire SBU having annual turnover exceeding Rs.300 crores for topline and
bottomline performance. Will lead a large team nationally.
Purpose:
Plan, organize, direct, control and manage the SBU with & complete responsibility over manufacturing,
sales and support functions, accountable for revenue, cost and profitability.
Direct department heads in defining goals and objectives and develop strategies to meet and evaluate those goals. Act as a change agent by providing the means to foster and support a positive organizational culture
Job Description:
This is a strategic leadership position responsible to Oversee SBU operations to ensure production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources. The position is also respo nsible for the total value chain of the business with more customer focus which will bring high degree of customer satisfaction, high employee morale, developing and ensuring effective implementation of Business Plan at SBU level.
Competencies:
The candidate should have adequate knowledge in the following areas:
Excellent knowledge of managing business unit in manufacturing industry
Knowledge of strategic planning and execution
Knowledge of contracting, ;negotiating, and change management
Knowledge of examining and re-engineering operations and procedures
Knowledge in formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
Excellent knowledge of financial accounting and concepts like EVA, PBAT, ROCE & COGS etc.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, six sigma, JIT, Kanban, TPM, FMEA, SAP and BSC
Knowledge of statutory rules and r egulations with respect to safety, environment and labour
Candidate Profile: Engineer (preferably MBA) with 15-25 years relevant general management experience in
manufacturing & sales in engineering organisations in the machinery manufacturing, pumps, generators, low-switchgears, motors, alternators, drives, circuit-breakers,diesel-sets, auto-ancillary or other similar engineering fields.
