Location:
Position; Project Manager( Focus on Embedded Software, with exposure to Hardware). Minimum 10 years of software industry experience, with at least five years progressively in a management capacity.
Education; Minimum BE , preferably in Electronics
Experience; Long-term work experience in one of the following industries is highly desirable: Broadcast, Video, Mobile/Telecom, Media/Entertainment.
Additional Notes
- Persons with pure software application experience would be unlikely to succeed in these positions as they are closer to embedded development.
- While they not looking for a hardware specialist, a pure software project manager that has no exposure to hardware or embedded would most likely be all at sea in an environment such .

Job Description
This is a technology company that develops highly advanced technology products in photography, videography, and broadcast industries. Project Manager is a senior level engineering manager with mostly software and some hardware background. Main responsibility is to manage engineering teams to deliver technology products of high quality and within a tight delivery schedule.
Detailed Job Description
1. Coach, mentor, and manage large teams of software engineers and possibly hardware engineers.
2. Take responsibility for delivery of products, within the quadruple constraints of time-to-market, quality, budget, and product requirements.
3. Personally manage or oversee project planning, resource planning, and execution (including tracking and monitoring) of various projects.
4. Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and optimally allocate resources is critical.
5. Develop (or participate in development of) software and hardware engineering processes, documentation practices, etc. (within own department and also across the company) and enforce compliance.
6. Recruit and build a team of highly talented engineers.
7. Lead preparation of training programs for engineers, both to strengthen current skills and to develop new skills.
8. Manage or participate in management of outsourced software and hardware teams.
9. Participate in various planning processes such as company-wide business planning, product planning (i.e. release planning), HR planning (i.e. estimation of resources) etc.
10. Participate in other associated activities such as manufacturing, support, QA, etc. although direct experience in QA is highly desirable.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum B.E. degree from a reputed university or institute, preferably in Electronics. Higher technical education preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of software industry experience, with at least five years progressively in a management capacity.
- At least a few years of experience working abroad - preferably in USA or Western Europe – in a technology environment is highly desirable.
- Prior experience in the product environment is highly desirable, but not essential.
- A background in embedded systems, and a basic understanding of electronic hardware design and manufacturing aspects is necessary.
- Long-term work experience in one of the following industries is highly desirable: Broadcast, Video, Mobile/Telecom, Media/Entertainment.
Additional Notes
- Persons with pure software application experience would be unlikely to succeed in these positions as they are closer to embedded development.
- A person with long-term experience in stated industries would be a good candidate. Having worked on a project or two in these industries in the passing is probably not adequate.
