Our new venture will allow network operators to more effectively and efficiently deliver content to mobile devices.  Delivery of video content is putting a strain on wireless networks, increasing costs and degrading the quality of user experience. The Venture will provide a mobile content delivery platform that provides users with the content they want, when they want it, while enabling the service provider to profitably deliver traffic.

 
POSITION DESCRIPTION:  GENERAL MANAGER
Seeking a General Manager who is experienced working in mobile applications and content as well as wireless infrastructure including cellular and WiFi and with some business development experience with wireless network operators.  

 
The successful candidate will have business acumen with a track record of execution in business development, market strategy, and product management with the ability to direct all aspects of bringing a product to worldwide release.  The successful candidate is experienced in leading-edge technology; he/she can bring out the best in people and has most likely come from a start up environment.  


Reporting:   General Manager reports to USA-based Vice President.   Small teams today in USA and India with headcount to quickly grow to around 20.

Travel:  Must be willing to travel as required (India, USA, plus customers worldwide.)

Key responsibilities include:

    * Provide general management oversight and business development expertise to our project team to deliver offerings on schedule and within budget and establish advantage in the marketplace.   Owns P&L and budgeting process.  Demonstrate strong leadership and vision for the Venture.

    * Define product solution through all stages of life cycle.  Plays a proactive role in product planning and definition to ensure product is differentiated in appropriate market space.    Create awareness and evangelize the solution in the marketplace.

    * Establish relationships with customers (wireless network operators such as Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Airtel, Orange) and internal sales channel partners.   Capitalize on his/her existing personal network or is at ease in quickly building relationships.

    * Build extended network internally and externally in order to timely settle issues such as finance, legal, procurement, HR, etc.

    * Maintain accountability for managing overall business strategy, market attack strategy, and sales/channel strategy along with transition to appropriate business unit and product family.


QUALIFICATIONS:

    * Masters of Business Administration or equivalent preferred.

    * At  least two (2) years of experience as General Manager, Director, Vice President or Senior Manager of Business Development, Product Development or  Product Management, Sales & Marketing or similar position.

    * Must have mobile applications / content and wireless infrastructure experience.

    * Business development experience in global markets positioning products and developing relationships with network carriers/operators is required.

The compensation will be commensurate with the experience level of the successful candidate.   Competitive relocation and benefit package.
