Job Description
The role is based in the field, and works closely with the VP Sales of a region or business unit of SAP India. The responsibilities of the role are split 50-50 between Value University (which is SAP’s initiative to create best in class teams internally) and INDUS (The SAP User Group for the Indian Sub-Continent). The position reports to the Head of India Sales Operations and has high visibility within SAP India as well as with SAP EMEA and global teams, with a broad span of responsibility that touches on all aspects of the customer facing organization ranging but not limited to sales, marketing, services, finance, HR, as well as other SAP units including SAP Labs and SAP Global Customer Communities.
Specifically, the focus of the role includes:
Value University:
* Develop and execute an enablement plan for India GFO, together with the Sales VP and managers in line with the LOB priorities and challenges. o Robust on-boarding for new/ inexperienced talent o Up-skilling and re-skilling existing talent o Sales Leadership Development * In consultation with Management, and HR responsible for identifying skill and knowledge gaps within the hub Sales organization and ensuring that priority hub Sales training requirements are met for Solution, Industry and Role Based training. * Plan and deliver a comprehensive curriculum to on-board, train, refresh and retain Sales & Presales talent in SAP India. * Deliver role and competency based curriculum. Blend and extend global and local enablement offerings, and enable delivery of virtual, online, on-demand plus classroom training across critical topics. * Work with EMEA and Global VU organizations to implement some best practices in India. Create some local best practices to share with the regional and global teams * Embed Value DNA through-out SAP India * Make SAP a place to grow for Sales Organizations. Help SAP India develop best in class talent * The market unit point of contact for all Value University led sales training and enablement programs conducted on behalf of the Sales LOB
INDUS : SAP India User Group
* Participate and provide SAP inputs in all relevant User Group activities and planning sessions * Communicate regularly with User Group leaders on SAP news & product updates * Identify and secure SAP speaker resources for INDUS events/programs * Collaborate with INDUS Community leadership to contribute year-round programming, including newsletters, Webcasts, and jump page updates * Collaborate with INDUS to build the Annual Conference and other face-to-face event and meeting agenda(s); suggests content & SAP speakers and/or topics as appropriate * Promote INDUS year-round resources in relevant SAP customer communications and marketing * Ensure SAP is closing the loop on Influence opportunities * Serve as the first escalation point for SAP-related issues * Present value-add programs directly to customers. For example, the INDIS-SAP Benchmarking program – identifying value proposition and working with customers to ensure they understand and take advantage of INDUS programs. * Obtain valuable SAP customer insights and channel back to the SAP organization accordingly.
The ideal candidate will be a self starter, exhibit strong leadership skills, a proven track record of creating and driving key field initiatives in a matrix organization.
Key skills & background: * 10-14 years of experience in an enterprise software sales environment * Extremely strong communication & networking skills * Must be skilled in working with multiple teams from multiple locations to realize successful delivery of requirements. * Ability to establish trust with the sales organization at all levels * Create and lead strategic initiatives with national impact * Solid mastery of Microsoft Office
