Job Code: 14486 Location: One of my clients, a national level distribution and logistics business, are looking for a Vice President – Operations. Key responsibilities for this role are as laid out below. From a operations standpoint, this would be an aggressive go-getter, who can get work done under ‘come what may’ circumstances. Man-management is an absolute must for this role and any demonstrable track-record in this regard would be a big advantage. Key Responsibilities: Operations
· To plan, direct, and implement Regional operations and administrative support to meet prescribed productivity and service goals.
· To oversee National Warehousing and Transportation activities to ensure smooth operational functioning. Customer Service
· To establish customer service standards, at the DC level which have to be communicated to all personnel / functions concerned.
· To develop systems which provide induction to the service standards, for all customers.
· To maintain relationships with customers. Quality & Safety
· To ensure institutionalization of systems to maintain quality and safety standards at the DC level in coordination with head quality.
· To maintain a safe work environment. Receivables Collection · To ensure that collections targets are met and take all steps to ensure that there are no system inadequacies. Inventory Management · To oversee and guide to maintain standards, to conduct audit checks to minimise losses. Equipment & Facilities · To ensure that the investments made to procure equipment and facilities for the DC assure efficient operation and meet company profit goals.
Satellite DC Management (Wherever Applicable) · To oversee the smooth functioning of Satellite DC. Occupational Health & Safety · To develop suitable programs for maintaining company standards of sanitation, security, housekeeping, and safety of equipment and facilities in a manner that assures their most efficient operation.
Employee Management · To ensure work relationships are maintained harmoniously. · To lead, guide, coach and counsel the DC team to achieve defined results. Compliance · To ensure all statutory regulation compliance with regard to DC operation.
Others · To play an active role in leading the continuous improvement efforts at the DC level.
Must haves:
- At least 12 yrs of work experience, recent 3 yrs being in a leadership capacity.
- Engineering & Management graduate – preferably tier 1 institutes.
- Industry background – FMCG, Pharma, Consumer Goods, Retail
- Worked in supply chain, logistics, distribution, warehousing function.
