Job Description

 

The Head of EMEA is responsible for the successful delivery of all projects in the EMEA region . These projects would be predominantly in the Oracle Technology space which includes Oracle Applications, Oracle Retail, Business Intelligence, Siebel and Oracle CRM and Fusion Middleware. However there could be deliveries outside the Oracle space as well and this will include Infrastructure Management services, Testing Services etc. The Head’s responsibilities includes but is not limited to the following:

 

Strategic level

    * Review of business Plans and ensuring that budgeted revenue for the region is met.
    * Understanding the EMEA Region and finding opportunities to enhance relationships with customers, contractors and other stakeholders like Oracle.
    * Reporting progress of the Region and providing health check at regular intervals, escalate issues to sponsor & steering committee
    * Analyzing and reporting  Project or Region risks and issues, budget vs actual, progress and key performance indicator
    * Looking for the new opportunities and business in alignment to strategy
    * Capturing and sharing best practices used in the industry
    * Identifying IP opportunities and create them
    * Participating in strategy formulation at the EAS Business Unit level.

 

Tactical level

    * Defining Project/Client governance framework
    * Proactive intervention and decision making to ensure that program is on track
    * Finalizing appropriate project level deliverables like scope, technical and quality strategies
    * Ensuring that appropriate resources are available to projects including securing contractor/supplier resources for the program
    * Coordinating with finance team, business development team and customer for all billing and finance related issues
    * Ensuring that non-project activities identified for the success of the region are met.

 

Operational level

 

Leadership

·         Providing the project team with direction and ensuing effective communication of that direction.

·         Identifying and elevating capability of project managers through mentoring

·         Addressing cross-project issues including conflicts (e.g. staff, business time, release slots) and declared or actual slippage against timelines, dependencies etc

·         Managing dependencies and interface between projects

 

Process and Quality

·         Process development & continuous improvement

·         Ensuring Project integrity with respect to technical, functional, interface or quality aspects so that projects remain integrated and aligned to Company and EAS standards.

·         Defining various metrics that can help in putting better control on program

·         Coordinating with software quality assurance team (SQA) / SEPG and implement the suggestion.

·         Monitoring and checking for the closure of non conformance reports

·         Working with Customers to ensure high satisfaction levels and ensuring that Customer Satisfaction feedbacks are received.

 

People management

·         Resource management of the EMEA unit

·         Putting right mix of resources at all level so that there in no bulge as any level or having top heavy team

·         Managing Resource ramp up/down plan and their induction to program

·         Resource skill development

·         Optimum resource utilization

·         Managing attrition and taking steps to ensure high motivation levels of resources.
