Job Code: 14235 Location: My client is an established market intelligence, risk and sourcing research business headquartered in the US and having research and analysis centers in India, China, Argentina, Brazil, Russia.
They cater to a large number of global clients, including nearly 60 of the Fortune 500 companies. The team is now almost 200 strong research and analysis staff across the offices, growing at a 50% YOY rate.
This business is on track to reach about 10 mn USD by the end of the year and grow to almost 1000 staff in the next 3 years.
My client is looking for a:
Job Title: Business Development Manager, India & Southeast Asia
Department: Global Sales Organization
Location:Chennai or can also be based at home initially
Reports :
Marcy Bucci, VP Global Business Development & Marketing;
Role will have peers in other geographies around the world as well as Internal Sales support
Job Objective: Grow the brand in the region by developing meaningful client relationships. To do this, you will need to quickly assimilate the company’s capabilities and expertise with client requirements and client gaps.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities (principal duties, continuing responsibilities, and accountability):
· Meet or exceed Sales performance targets (Activity Metrics, Pipeline development, and business closed)
· Accurately predict territory sales performance for the region within +/- 10% measured monthly and quarterly
· Provide leadership and guidance to a more junior Sales Associate; until the role gets more established Initial responsibility will be to have 30-50 calls per day, and 2-5 scheduled client visits or calls per week, appropriately manage all phases of their sales cycles from prospecting, to writing contracts (using our template) to closing the deal through to collecting payment and ensuring high quality delivery.
Relationships and Roles(internal / external cooperation):
· Research Team as well as with the client to create solutions that fit client needs.
· Collaborate closely with peers in the Global Field Sales organization
· Become a member of local Supply Management organizations and professional business forums to meet peers, mentors, and new prospective clients
Job Specifications (necessary skills and experience required):
· 8-10 years Field Sales Experience preferred, but will consider less for outstanding candidates with past success record;
· Understanding or direct interaction with Supply Chain and/or Procurement Organizations
Key traits desired: sense of urgency, accountability, an interest and curiosity, highly self-motivated and goal oriented, and a good sense of creativity and the ability to think quick on their feet.
