Location: Senior Operations Manager - Non Profit ( Chennai, India )
Here is a requirement that is a little removed from the ones that are generally posted here !! My client, a well-known non-profit, has set up a venture targeting rural tourism. The mission is to bridge the supply chain gaps by identifying and investing in financially viable rural tourism business opportunities which positively impact the host communities and provide sustainable solutions to travelers, accommodation providers and travel service providers in technology, marketing and finance. The plan is to create a single unified platform/ portal that will support tourists and service providers.
As the head of operations, you will be responsible for the following:
Profit and loss responsibility to the Board of Directors
- Strategic management
- Negotiation, Recruitment, Training and Oversight of 300 Destination Management Company (DMC) entrepreneurs as they source and maintain relationships with all destinations
- Coordination with travel websites and other key channel partners
- Management of website development and refinement
- Brand management of the company brand and also brands of specific rural tourism products
- Metric driven management of B2B web business
- Process adherence and metrics in regards to customer experience and destination quality
The ideal candidate will be a MBA with a passion for social marketing and about 8 years of experience in FMCG or travel and hospitality. In addition the candidate will :
- Have experience in scaling and managing a geographically distributed team in sales or operations
- Be a superb manager who is systematic, organized, gregarious and inspiring.
- Possess an eye for detail, foresight, and a passion for what India has to offer beyond the beaten path. Openness to extensive travel is a must.
