D.light Energy Pvt. Ltd. is looking to hire an extremely experienced Logistics professional to build a pan-India logistics channel capable of reaching deep rural. This position is based in New Delhi, India and will report directly to, and work closely with, the Country Head (India) to continuously improvise on the logistics & commercial functions.
This position is an incredible opportunity to impact millions of people. Our goal is to eradicate kerosene lanterns from earth and to boost household productivity by providing energy to all families. To do this we will become the market leader in delivering safe and affordable lighting and power solutions to over 1.6 billion people who currently do not have access to electricity. In India we are launching a product line of improved lighting and energy solutions to 78 million families still using kerosene lanterns. From there we will expand to a platform of power products.
The company is funded by both Silicon Valley and Indian investors including Mahindra & Mahindra, Nexus India Capital, Acumen Fund, Garage Technology Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and Gray Matters Capital, and we have offices across three continents.
YOU
You are an extremely competent and motivated professional who has managed logistics in a pan- India consumer goods company with limited resources and demonstrated excellent track record in managing logistics and commercial functions in the past.
You are eager to work outside of a corporate environment, in a fast paced and energetic start-up, and are ready to challenge yourself to build a nation-wide enterprise. You are confident of attaining great results, have a track record of achievements, and are ready to contribute to building a results oriented culture.
You have liasoned with shipping companies, C&F agents and transporters, and ensured procurement of products from Global suppliers at competitive prices. You have successfully developed the entire supply chain and are adept at managing activities like - Inventory Management, Import-Export, Material Management, Stores Management, Freight Management. You have a proven track-record for optimizing cost of procurement, transportation, warehousing and distribution. You have liasoned with various Govt. authorities like DGFT, Banks, Custom Houses and Shipping Lines.
You have a successful track record and 15-18 years experience in SCM, Business Process re-engineering & commercial functions in India. You have flair for strategic planning, logistics management, systems implementation, import operations. You are proficient in tax & commercial matters related to Supply Chain. You are extremely entrepreneurial and creative in acquiring partners and leveraging resources. You are driven to succeed and willing to travel extensively and work long hours to propel D.light.
You are also strongly motivated by the opportunity to improve the lives of millions of families with high hopes but little income. Finally, you are a team builder, ready to build and/or support increasingly sophisticated multi-cultural teams and a leader who inspires others and acts with the utmost honesty and integrity.
This position is based in Delhi, India and will have the following responsibilities:
* Creating & streamlining robust SCM operations in D.light to implement ‘closer to market’ strategy.
* Managing logistics cost per unit at optimum level by ensuring high level of efficiency
* Managing reverse logistics for aftersales service
* Analyzing SKU wise sales data to ensure effective indenting / demand planning and reducing cost of carrying inventory
* Creating sales planning & forecasting tools
* Establishing cost effective distribution chain by effectively negotiating costs & service levels with Supply Chain partners
* Establishing and managing process & system driver C&F operations
* Managing efficient & cost effective imports, SVB valuation and single day turnaround time
* Ownership of establishing & managing systems for efficient business processes related to aftersales service viz. warranty claims, managing spares, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Highly energetic self-starter and leader. Comfortable and excited to work in a startup environment.
* Ability to handle teams with speed and accuracy
* Extensive experience in managing logistics / distribution / commercials for 15~18 years
* Fluency in English and Hindi a must
* Minimum M.B.A. or equivalent business degree or experience
* Passionate about eradicating kerosene lanterns and providing families high quality light & power
